Allthings
Allthings is an alternative to the heavyweight file-search utilities: a single window that searches Spotlight, lists matches while you type, and gets out of the way.
It uses mdfind exclusively — no filesystem crawl, no index of its own. A short debounce prevents a query from being run for every keystroke, and result metadata is loaded away from the UI thread so the list stays responsive on large result sets.
What it does
Queries can be plain filename matches or Spotlight regular expressions. The search scope is Home, the whole machine, or a chosen folder. Results can be sorted by clicking a column, and each result can be opened, revealed in Finder, have its path copied, or moved to the Trash.
There is no preview pane, no tag editor, no saved-search system, and no plugin architecture. The README states the principle directly: keep it simple, and less is more.
Build
The app is a SwiftUI project with no Xcode project file. make produces a .app bundle, and make run builds and launches it. Copying the bundle to /Applications is the installation step.
It requires macOS 15 or later and a Swift toolchain from the Command Line Tools. The interface follows the current macOS material style, including the translucent window treatment, but the rest of the app is deliberately conventional.
